Thanks to the ministry of HRD. I got a "core" branch in one of the "15" IITs . It happened to be the same as of JEE 2009 topper.
The first month over there (probably the most happening one mon. of my life) changed me to an extent I never thought.I thought an IIT would be all abt. studies , indeed it was about all but studies. We are presently in a temporary campus and theres nothing much to boast abt. but what we do here, sometimes make us say "Our IIT Rockssss" and the voice comes from within.
The first few days here were lonely for I was feeling homely (twas for the first time I was away from home for more than three days) , I was shy to talk to anyone.I dont know how, but I got rid of my shyness in a week and met students , all sorts of.They are just 92 but from all over India , different in ............ everything. Gradually my "friend list" expanded.
Our seniors , as I noticed are the best anyone can have. They "interacted" with us in a really friendly manner.I was fun to answer their questions , funny , of course. They are helpful and nice.
Before our classes started , some boys played cricket (and got defeated by the seniors) , some football (though there is no proper football stadium in the temporary campus) , I developed my interest in Table tennis.Twas fun.
The classes stated , and went on , but I never started studying till three weeks.Me and my friends would talk , sometimes in room , sometimes at terrace , and on ORKUT ,in night till 1 am or so , sharing our experiences.
Some of my friends had girlfriends and other lucky ones got them soon after thay joined an IIT (its so cool if u are an IITian) .Ifelt ,having a girlfriend was the coolest thing I cant miss and started looking for it , and the search goes onnnn...
(One should know that IITs have poor inflow of girls....thanks to JEE )
Then came the night we all waited for , the Fresher Party. Our seniors gifted us a beatiful evening. It was so rocking ,Icant explain , Idanced my heart out , with my batch mates ,seniors , that was fun. I never danced that much ever before , couldnt eat that night. Some of my friends gave really rocking performences.I regretted I didnt do anything .Our party hasnt ended since then , we literally "party every night".
Some classes really made me feel like studying , so ,finally I've now started studying though not like I thought before joining.I even bought my first book in an IIT few days back. I am more confident now, have become a fan of Linkin park , feel like singing songs & can express myself in a better way.
We (yes, I have a lot of friends now) are now enjoying everything , The Classes , The Workshops , The labs ,The library, The rain (it rains a lot here).
Now having writtn all this , I feel like shouting IIT Patna Rocksss......
